Be a Syd Project is a 501c3 non-profit organization with the mission of creating a safe place for horses and humans to experience kindness, hope, and healing. Located currently in Gilford, NH.
The team at Be a Syd Project is committed to sharing the healing powers of horses, and giving experiences to all who can benefit. In doing so, we also strive to have mutually beneficial experiences for horse and human, where they can experience growth and healing together.
Horses are worth far more than what they can do for us in sport or work. They are now a luxury, no longer a necessity for transportation or daily life, which means they deserve to step down from that responsibility into a life of comfort and joy. This is something we can give them and when we do, they will give back to us in unimaginable ways.
Be a Syd Project was created in honor of Sydnie Quimby. She was a light in the lives of everyone that she knew - people and animals alike. She made it known how much horses had done for her and the positivity they brought to her life. We know that she would want similar sacred opportunities shared with anyone and everyone.
The Project was begun by Syd's loving Grandparents, Judy and Scott, who share her love and passion for horses. It was their special "thing" with Syd. Each and everyone of the team members at Be a Syd is aware of the positive power that horses can have in our lives and have experienced it themselves.
We are proud to partner with a variety of local organizations to provide the best possible support to our clients, as well as partnering with long time professionals in the Equine Assisted Services space. We are excited to see where the growth takes us.
